Princess Jenni's emotional win

The winner’s stall is often a place for great outpourings of emotion and so it was for Tony Ottobre and his family following his trip to the winner’s stall at The Valley on Friday night to welcome back stakes winner Princess Jenni.

Ottobre explained later that the filly kept alive the memories of his daughter, who died four years ago.

‘’The good horses we do call Jenni after our daughter who passed away in 2015 and we hope to keep her memory alive by naming the horses after her and this has been an absolute thrill and it gives us something to look forward to because when you lose a child, it’s pretty well devastating,’’ Ottobre explained to Racing.com

‘’Our horses give us hope and they give us comfort as well so its great to see them run and especially when they win a group race.’’

Ridden by Damien Oliver, Princess Jenni ($12) came from well back in the field to run down the $3.90 favourtie Angelic Ruler with the $19 shot Arctic Shock in third place.
