Trainer Brendan McCarthy admitted he might have to change his plans following the victory of Blondie in Saturday's $120,000 Ladbrokes Crockett Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley.
McCarthy had originally been planning to head towards next month's Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) at Sandown with the daughter of Reward For Effort but said she probably now deserved a shot at the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on Oaks Day.
The Caulfield-based horseman blamed himself for the three-year-old's disappointing effort to finish last at Flemington at her previous run.
"Putting the blinkers on her and going to 1600m was the wrong decision and the key today was bringing her back in distance and freshening her up," McCarthy said.
"I was very confident, she worked beautifully on Tuesday, it was the only gallop she had in between runs but it was the gallop of a horse that was really ready to go.
"She bounces back from every run so well, nothing worries her, she's very tough and does everything very well."
The race was a forgettable one for Godolphin with the favourite Demerara sitting outside the winner in the run before weakening to finish third and Jorda encountering a luckless run in transit to finish unplaced.
