David Sinn appointed to Moonee Valley Racing Club Committee

08 Aug 2016
The Moonee Valley Racing Club is pleased to announce the appointment of David Sinn to the Committee, replacing former Chairman Bob Scarborough following his retirement last November.

At the 2015 Annual General Meeting, the Club established a Nominations Committee to review the skill set of the existing MVRC Committee, and to identify those skill sets that needed to be added in order to strengthen the Committee. With the Moonee Valley Master Plan at a critical juncture, the Nominations Committee sought a candidate with legal and property expertise to join the Club.

David Sinn was identified as a leading candidate to fill this vacancy. David is currently the Head of Real Estate – Asia Pacific at Herbert Smith Freehills, and is recognised as one of Australia’s leading real estate lawyers. David is a member of Herbert Smith Freehills Asia Pacific Executive Committee and Australian Regional Executive.

David also has extensive racing and breeding interests, and has enjoyed success with OTI Racing and Michael Moroney, including the 2007 Victoria Derby with Kibbutz.

MVRC Chairman Don Casboult welcomed the appointment of David to the Committee.

“David brings a wealth of knowledge and commercial expertise to the Moonee Valley Committee, particularly in the area of property development. I look forward to the contribution that David can make in assisting to guide the Club through the next phase of this redevelopment as we commence our engagement with potential development partners. Coupled with David’s passion for racing and for Moonee Valley, I am pleased that David has agreed to join our Committee at this exciting time.”

“I'm delighted to join the Moonee Valley Racing Club Committee and look forward to playing my role in realising the Club's vision for the future” Sinn stated.

"The Moonee Valley Racing Club is one of Victoria’s premier sporting clubs and look forward to assisting MVRC in creating the best racing experience for its members and the racing industry generally.”

David Sinn was officially appointed to the Moonee Valley Racing Club Committee on August 2. David will join current MVRC Committee members Martin Ralston and David Kobritz seeking re-election at the 2016 Annual General Meeting.
