The 2026/27 racing season promises another exciting chapter for Moonee Valley Racing Club, with 23 race meetings confirmed across Victoria.
Due to the ongoing redevelopment of The Valley, the Club will again operate under its transferred race meeting model, working closely with Racing Victoria and host clubs including Southside Racing, Melbourne Racing Club, Geelong Racing Club and Victoria Racing Club.
The season kicks off on 8 August at Caulfield Heath before heading to Sandown Hillside for early feature racing, including the Group 1 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes on 5 September. Group 1 racing continues with the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes at Caulfield on 27 September.
In a historic first, the 106th W.S. Cox Plate will be held at Flemington on 24 October, alongside the Group 2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup.
Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights returns with 14 meetings across Cranbourne and Pakenham, launching on AFL Grand Final Eve and running through to March. Three meetings will also be held at Geelong, with the season culminating in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes at Caulfield.
Following the 2025 Ladbrokes Cox Plate, the Moonee Valley Racecourse has been temporarily closed as we embark on the next chapter of our journey—bringing The Valley of Tomorrow to life. During this exciting redevelopment phase, our race meetings will be transferred to partner host clubs for the 2025/26 season.
While construction is underway to create a world-class, 365-day destination that celebrates racing, entertainment, community, and connection, The Valley spirit will continue to shine across Victoria until we welcome everyone back home to our new, reimagined racecourse.
