There will be no Public Parking available at Flemington Racecourse.

RIDESHARE 

Drop-off for patrons choosing to arrive at Flemington by rideshare is available at all three main Entrances (The Main Gate, The Elms Gate and The Hill Gate). Rideshare is a suitable option for drop-off only. All patrons should consider other transport options before choosing rideshare for their trip home. The only designated rideshare pick-up zone will be located adjacent The Nursery, near The Birdcage pedestrian overpass. LIMOUSINE / 

LICENSED HIRE CARS (VHA/B/C) 

Limousines and licensed hire cars have access to drop off at all three main entrances. No limousines or hire cars are permitted to enter Flemington Racecourse without a pre-organised booking. 

Members Car Park / Main Taxi Rank 

All vehicles should enter via Stables Drive Entrance off Smithfield Rd. VHA/B/C cars and limousines returning at the end of the day to collect patrons will be directed to park in the limousine holding area within the main Members Car Park (Wetlands) and will be called down to the patron collection point when their client is ready to depart. 

Riverbank Precinct 

Access to The Elms Gate will be via a one-way road from Smithfield Road (at Lynch’s Bridge Entrance) to the designated drop-off area at the Riverbank Precinct, then exiting via a left turn at Fisher Parade. VHA/B/C cars and Limousines returning at the end of the day to collect patrons will enter via Lynch’s Bridge Entrance and will be directed to the limousine holding area and will be called down to The Elms patron collection point when their client is ready to depart. 

Hill Gate 

Access to the designated drop-off area (adjacent the rear of VIP Carpark) is via Gate 7a of the Showgrounds off Langs Rd. VHA/B/C cars and limousines returning at the end of the day to collect patrons will be directed to a holding area within the Showgrounds located a short walk from the VIP carpark. Drivers will need to exit via Gate 7c and follow the one-way road down Leonard Crescent on to Fisher Parade.

  • The main taxi rank near the Phar Lap Statue via Stables Drive (entry via Smithfield Road) 
  • The Hill Gate via Leonard Crescent

Private Hire Vehicles and Uber 

VHA/B & C cars and Rideshare services, including Uber, can access Flemington via Hill Gate (entry via Leonard Crescent).

General Admission ticket holders are asked to wear smart casual.

Members Enclosure 

Attending a race day is an opportunity to dress in your finest and favourite racewear and express your own unique fashion style. With this in mind, please be aware that Members Dress Regulations apply in the Members Enclosure. The Club reserves the right to deny entry or remove anyone deemed inappropriately dressed. 

The Members Enclosure includes The Club Stand, The Grandstand, the Members Lawn, the Members Betting Ring, the Members Car Parks and The Birdcage. 

Please note: It is the responsibility of the person booking the tickets to ensure their guests adhere to the dress regulations.

LADIES (INCLUDING CHILDREN 12 AND OVER) 

Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard in keeping with the distinction of the Members Enclosure. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal National Dress of their country.

NOT ACCEPTABLE: 
• Any form of the following footwear: joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, slippers, dilapidated footwear, gumboots or rubber thongs 

• Jeans, jodhpurs, tracksuits or untailored pants 

• Short jumpsuits/playsuits and shorts or short suits that are above the knee 

• Pants tucked into socks or footwear 

• Torn or ripped clothing even if considered ‘designer’ tears 

• Garments which show belly button and garments which show an open back below the waist 

• Bralettes and bandeau crop tops 

• Leggings worn as pants. Footless tights acceptable if suitable dress worn over the top 

• Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, golf and yachting weatherproofs, denim jackets, casual or untailored leather jackets, anoraks and Driza-Bone (oilskin) jackets 

• Strictly no denim 
 

GENTLEMEN (INCLUDING CHILDREN 12 AND OVER)

Gentlemen are required to wear a suit, or tailored pants (tailored chinos and tailored leather pants are acceptable), tailored shorts on or below the knee, sports coat or blazer and a collared dress shirt, plus tie or bow tie and dress shoes. 
Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal National Dress of their country. During the period between 1 December and 31 March jackets may be removed.

NOT ACCEPTABLE: 
• Any form of the following footwear: joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, sandals, thongs, dilapidated footwear, gumboots or slippers 

• Jeans, jodhpurs, untailored pants, cargo pants or pants with elastic cuffs 

• Shorts of any kind that are above the knee - such as, bike shorts, stretch shorts, board shorts, sports shorts and casual shorts 

• Torn or ripped clothing even if considered ‘designer’ tears 

• Open-neck shirts or shirts with no collar 

• Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, golf and yachting weatherproofs, waist length jackets including bomber jackets, denim jackets, casual or untailored leather jackets, anoraks and Driza-Bone (oilskin) jackets 

• Safari suits, tracksuits 

• Peaked caps, beanies 

• Pullovers or cardigans (without a jacket), rugby tops and football guernseys, even if wearing a tie 

• Cravats 

• Strictly no denim

Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day is in the afternoon of Saturday 24 October. Race times are yet to be confirmed.

The Ladbrokes Lounge will be invite-only on Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day.

There are various locations throughout the Members, Public and Corporate facilities that provide access to ATMs and EFTPOS.

Yes, volunteers will be selling Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pins throughout the course over the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day. Pins cost $10 each with proceeds donated to our charity partner Myeloma Australia.

What you can bring into Flemington depends on which areas your ticket allows you entry to. Make sure you read our terms and conditions for the ticket you have purchased carefully before arriving to Flemington. 

No alcohol can be brought through the turnstiles into the racecourse. The only exception is within Members' Reserved Car Parks - The Nursery and The Rails (conditions apply). Alcohol can be purchased in all dining facilities and at retail bar outlets located in both the Members and public areas of the racecourse. Bag checks will be conducted by security at points of entry.

BYO food is not permitted in The Club Stand, except on the Members Lawn and in the Members Betting Ring. BYO food is permitted in The Grandstand, except in The Atrium Dining and The Peak.

Anything that is considered dangerous including glasswear and knives will also not be permitted. Please see below full list of prohibited items as outlined in the Conditions of Entry for Flemington Racecourse.

For the comfort and safety of persons at the Course, You are not permitted to bring into the Course (or have in your possession at the Course) any of the following without the written consent of VRC:

  • alcoholic beverages, glass containers or open beverage containers;
  • any structure or item that may be used to erect a structure (including without limitation ‘market’ or ‘beach’ umbrellas or similar large umbrellas, portable shade structures or gazebos), or which is capable of supporting the weight of a person, such as any chairs, lounges, benches or stools (other than a folding fabric chair or folding fabric stool);
  • prohibited weapons or controlled weapons within the meaning of the Control of Weapons Act 1990 (Vic) whose possession would constitute an offence under that act or articles capable of being used as weapons or anything which may be used in a way which adversely affects the safety of persons at the course, damages property or interferes with the comfort of persons at the course or with their enjoyment of any event;
  • any object that could be used to distract, hinder or interfere with any animal or person taking part in an event, or disrupt, interrupt or behave in any manner that may disrupt or interrupt any event, whether intentionally or otherwise, such as a laser pointer device (or a device incorporating a laser pointer) or a drone;
  • any animals (other than, if the person is blind, deaf or otherwise suffering a disability, a guide dog);
  • any flags larger than 1 metre x 1 metre or with handles longer than 1 metre or any banner;
  • any whistle, loud hailer, public address system, electronic or other broadcast device or any device which may interfere with electronic or radio communications or broadcasting signals or equipment used by VRC or other persons authorised by VRC in connection with an event; any fireworks, flares or distress signals;
  • any item that you intend (or such quantities of the item from which VRC can reasonably infer that you intend) to distribute, hawk, sell, offer or expose for sale;
  • any dangerous goods (as that term is defined in section 3(1) of the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 (Vic))
  • any object, device or substance that may be used to deface or damage any part of the course, such as any spray paint or permanent markers;
  • any torn-up or shredded paper, confetti, rice, streamers or similar items;
  • on the course (excluding the car park), any vehicle or transportation device, such as any motorcar, motorcycle, motor scooter, bicycle, scooter, skateboard, roller skates or roller blades, but not including any wheelchair or similar apparatus which you require as a result of a disability or impairment;
  • in a car park, any unregistered road vehicle (including a scooter) and any skateboard, roller skates or roller blades (or similar items);
  • any ball or other item of sporting equipment; or
  • any item (such as any article of clothing, poster or sign) bearing any image, slogan or text which is indecent, discriminatory, obscene, insulting or threatening or which may be offensive to other persons present at the course (as determined by VRC in its sole discretion).

Depending on the race day (including the Melbourne Cup Carnival), members are granted complimentary access to specific zones: [1, 2] 

• The Grandstand: Includes levels 1 (The Forum), 2 (The Atrium), and 4 (The View). 

• The Club Stand: Access to unreserved dining and bar spaces, such as Level 3 (Bluegrass Bar) and Level 4 (Roof Top).
