The Moonee Valley Racing Club is pleased to announce that the venue for the 2026 Ladbrokes Cox Plate will be Flemington racecourse.&nbsp;This decision follows an extensive Expressions of Interest process, with Australia’s Best Race requiring a new venue for 2026 due to The Valley’s racecourse redevelopment.The Ladbrokes Cox Plate will retain its place in the spring program in 2026 and will be run on Saturday, 24 October. The meeting will feature nine races, including the Group 2 Ladbrokes Gold Cup. This will mark a momentous milestone, as it will be the first time in the storied history of the W. S. Cox Plate that the race will be held at a venue other than The Valley.Confirmation of the venue follows Racing Victoria Board’s decision to endorse the Club’s recommendation to award hosting rights to the Victoria Racing Club.&nbsp;MVRC and VRC members will both have access to Flemington on Ladbrokes Cox Plate Day.Further details on member entitlements will be shared closer to the date.&nbsp;“The MVRC is excited that the 2026 Ladbrokes Cox Plate will be held at Flemington, marking a historic occasion as the first time the race has been run at a different track. That event will take place following Race 3 on the card at 1:30 pm.&nbsp;Moonee Valley Racing Club has enjoyed its association with TIC and Pony Club Australia, providing young riders with the opportunity to gain experience on a major racing stage. The Valley hosted a leg of the first National Pony Racing Series in 2023, and last year on 3 Point Motors William Reid Stakes Day held a Shetland Pony Race.With the next generation of riders set to take centre stage once again, The Valley looks forward to another thrilling chapter in this growing series.
