Pakenham stable Keane for first city winner 

<div class="raw-html-embed">Patrick Keane is yet to train a city winner, but it feels like only a matter of time before he breaks through with horses like Keane Enuff knocking down the door with multiple placings at The Valley already. 
 
Named after his trainer by close friend Ray Collins, Keane Enuff was last seen running third in Heat 6 of the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge, and will look to go a few better when he lines up in Heat 8 this Friday night. 
 
Frustratingly, Keane says his sprinter has developed a tendency to wait for his opposition in races, which is backed up by his incredible place strike rate of 67%, despite having not won since his debut performance at Mornington as a short-priced favourite. 
 
“He goes really well,” Keane said. 
 
“But he’s just had some issues. He doesn’t know how to put them away yet. He hits the front and he pulls up, and then they’ll come to him again, and then he’ll come back again. 
 
“He always gets beat a nostril or a head. That’s his problem.” 
 
A $12,000 purchase at the 2021 Inglis Gold Yearling Sale, Keane Enuff has already amassed $80,610 for his small ownership group and will smash through the $100,000 mark if he is to win on Friday. 
 
“He’s been a great asset for the stable. Very productive for the ownership group… 
 
“Not often you get a horse that’s so competitive every time you go around. No matter where you run him, he always runs a good race.” 
 
Keane Enuff isn’t the only horse the stable will have engaged in Heat 8 of the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge. Also accepted for the race is last start winner Hybrid Moments, who added another victory to her CV last start at Seymour. 
 
“She’s a filly that goes well. She won her first start at Swan Hill and we’ve just had some niggling issues with her since then. 
 
“But the other day at Seymour she ran to where she’s at, at this stage. She jumped well, put herself in the race, and was very speedy. 
 
“Blaike McDougall got off her and said jeez she’s fast. Get her in at Moonee Valley 955, that’s her go.” 
 
Keane Enuff will be ridden by Luke Nolen from barrier 9 on Friday night, while Hybrid Moments has drawn pole position in barrier 1 for new rider JyeMcNeil. The pair will aim to deliver the team their first metropolitan victory, but Patrick Keane knows a lot still needs to go right before that eventuates.
