Japanese Cox Plate contender Prognosis is 'almost the same level' as 2023 winner Romantic Warrior according to connections.
Assistant trainer Yasunari Kiyoyama is confident the Mitsumasa Nakauchida-trained seven-year-old is in ideal condition heading into Saturday's race at The Valley.
"We have been preparing a long time for this weekend, we are 100 per cent ready to go," Kiyoyama said through a translator.
"He's a very honest horse, he tries his hardest, he's got really good turn of foot coming into the straight, the speed he's got is definitely going to be a strong point.
"We are very well aware that Pride Of Jenni is going to lead the race … we've got to be close enough to catch her in the straight."

The stable remains optimistic the Group 1 placegetter can be competitive on Australian soil and in a race which means a lot to the team and fans in Japan.
"(The) Cox Plate is very well known in Japan, (it's) a very famous race," Kiyoyama added.
"Prognosis has rivalled Romantic Warrior … we believe he's almost the same level and will fit into the race very well.
"It is the biggest target we have. Winning (a) Group 1 in Japan would be great, but winning an international Group 1 would mean a lot to the team."
