MVRC appoints Charlotte Mills as Head of Racing

June 2022 - MVRC Redevelopment Update

The Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Mills as our new Head of Racing. Charlotte is highly regarded as one of Australia’s leading racing administrators, having held a number of senior roles at Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA). Currently employed as RWWA’s Chief Racing Officer, Charlotte has led the management and development of racing operations across the three codes. In this highly strategic and progressive role, Charlotte has managed various initiatives for the West Australian racing industry. These projects include generating revenue through race fields and media rights, developing the current prizemoney model, a breeding enhancement scheme and ownership, animal welfare, and industry wellbeing strategies. As Chief Racing Officer, Charlotte has also had responsibility for corporate and stakeholder communications, engagement, government relations, and media.“Charlotte has made an incredible contribution to the West Australian racing industry, and we are excited to have her join our team. I look forward to Charlotte shaping the future direction of racing at The Valley as we move into an exciting 2022 / 23 season where we’ll celebrate the Centenary year of the W.S. Cox Plate and in March 2023 stage the All-Star Mile” stated MVRC CEO Michael Browell. Charlotte expressed that “After more than 15 years in the West, I am excited to commence this new role with the Moonee Valley Racing Club in my home state.” “Thoroughbred racing is deeply entrenched in the history and social fabric of Victoria, and it will be an honour to work with the team that is home to Australasia’s Weight-for-Age Championship, the W.S. Cox Plate.” Charlotte will relocate from Perth to Melbourne and join the MVRC team on Friday 20 August.

Construction of Trackside House and Stonepine House commences&nbsp;July marked another important milestone with the sod-turning ceremony held at Moonee Valley Park, which signalled the beginning of construction for Trackside House and Stonepine House. This ceremony was significant in the ongoing redevelopment project of our new community, accomplished in collaboration with our Development Partners: Hamton, Hostplus, ISPT, and builders Icon.The commencement of Trackside House and Stonepine House stages signifies the culmination of Phase 1, and we are delighted to witness the progress of the project so far. These stages bring us closer to realising the vision of Moonee Valley Park, offering an exceptional living experience for our future residents. We eagerly anticipate the completion of these stages in 2025.Trackside House will provide 204 apartments, offering a modern and luxurious lifestyle with breathtaking views of the track. Stonepine House will feature 122 apartments, blending contemporary design with the natural beauty of the surrounding parkland. Both developments will contribute significantly to the growth and vibrancy of our community.We extend thanks to our Development Partners Hamton, Hostplus, and ISPT for their unwavering commitment and expertise throughout this journey.
