The MVRC in the Community

With the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival having been run and won, the Moonee Valley Racing Club is delighted to have contributed $76,410 to the local community between the months of August to October:

Racing Victoria Community Tour

Throughout the Spring Racing Carnival, the MVRC was pleased to partner with Racing Victoria and take the W.S. Cox Plate and mascot ‘Coxy’ to the local community. Numerous Primary Schools played part in taking racing to more than 5,000 school children with leading jockey Katelyn Mallyon and several Clerk of the Course horses to educate students on our wonderful sport.

Cox Plate Charity Pin

The must have fashion accessory of the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival was the ever-popular Cox Plate Charity Pin with proceeds of the $5 pins donated directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. The MVRC was proud to once again partner with the RCHF in changing the future of children’s health. Thank you to our volunteer pin sellers who donated their time to this very worthy cause.

White Ribbon Step Challenge

The Valley was the destination for a group of Year 9 students from Rosehill Secondary College who spent the day climbing steps to help raise funds for the White Ribbon Foundation. In a bid to raise awareness for violence against women, the eight students raised $9,000 and heard from AFL Premiership player Chris Johnson and jockey Brooke Sweeney who dropped in for encouragement.

H2H Tipping Challenge

The Twitter H2H Tipping Competition is back for Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights and the MVRC is proud to have donated $750 thus far to charity. On Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes Night Jonathon Brown had to settle for a draw and put $250 into the kitty of the EB Research Foundation. $500 went the way of Camp Quality as a result of Josh McGuire winning the competition on November 17.
