Enver Jusofovic’s best horse Pinstriped has returned to work with an autumn campaign in mind after an injury curtailed his spring carnival.
Jusofovic has not yet nailed down an autumn program for Pinstriped by said he would nominate the horse for the $5 million All Star Mile at The Valley on March 18 after finishing 10th in the race last year as a three-year-old.
Nominations for the race open on Monday.
“We’ll throw in a nomination, but we’ll just play it by ear to see where he ends up,” Jusofovic said.
Pinstriped finished last of 20 in the $10 million Golden Eagle in Sydney but came out of the race with a back complaint.
“He’s gotten over his back trouble,” the trainer said. “He pulled up really sore after the Golden Eagle and he lost 25 kilos on the trip.
“It is a fairly quick turnaround to get him back up for the autumn, but he’s a horse that you are better doing something with than not.
“He’s come in at 525 kilos and he looks good.”
