February 2022 - MVRC Redevelopment Update

<p>Early Works activities are progressing on program including the finalisation of the functional design plan. Dam consolidation and earthwork activities (which are not subject to a building and works planning permit) have commenced on site and due to conclude in late May 2022.&nbsp;</p><p>Expressions of Interest (EOI) for services to undertake the construction of a new racing surface and associated works as part of the redevelopment of the racecourse is also underway with specialised turf contractors now shortlisted with a Request for Tender (RFT) process to commence soon.</p><p>In accordance with the Masterplan approval the preparation of the planning permit application for the racetrack and associated infrastructure has commenced. The racetrack planning application is programmed for lodgement with MVCC in Q2 2022. The preparation of the planning permit application for the Grandstand &amp; Clubhouse will be progressed for lodgement in 2023.</p><p>Through the MVRC’s redevelopment vision it is acknowledged that the Infield may play host to recreation and other activation activities for the public when the land is not being used for racing and / or non-racing events. The Infield land is subject to the Special Use 2 zone and is privately owned (freehold) by MVRC. As required under the Masterplan endorsement, a Working Group has been established for ongoing collaboration and information sharing to assist with the implementation of the Masterplan, including the activation of the Infield for community uses.</p>

<p><strong>Construction of Trackside House and Stonepine House commences&nbsp;</strong></p><p>July marked another important milestone with the sod-turning ceremony held at Moonee Valley Park, which signalled the beginning of construction for Trackside House and Stonepine House. This ceremony was significant in the ongoing redevelopment project of our new community, accomplished in collaboration with our Development Partners: Hamton, Hostplus, ISPT, and builders Icon.</p><p>The commencement of Trackside House and Stonepine House stages signifies the culmination of Phase 1, and we are delighted to witness the progress of the project so far. These stages bring us closer to realising the vision of Moonee Valley Park, offering an exceptional living experience for our future residents. We eagerly anticipate the completion of these stages in 2025.</p><p>Trackside House will provide 204 apartments, offering a modern and luxurious lifestyle with breathtaking views of the track. Stonepine House will feature 122 apartments, blending contemporary design with the natural beauty of the surrounding parkland.
