Cox Plate jockey comments

State Of Rest (Won): "I knew across the line that I had given him a bit of a bump so I couldn't even celebrate but thank God we got the win anyway. The longer (the stewards' inquiry) was going the more anxious moments but I think the right decision was made. The race panned out pretty well, when the gap appeared I had to ask him to improve quickly before it closed and we might have got there a little too soon but to his credit, when that horse (Anamoe) got to him, he really fought and was solid to the line." - John Allen.

Anamoe (Second): "Went fantastic. Flowed along nicely. I'm glad I changed my mind and went on the inside instead of the outside. Unfortunately, we didn't win on the track and I was hoping we would in the stewards' room."- Craig Williams.

Verry Elleegant (Third): "Super run. Thought I was the winner down the side but to the first two's credit, they gave a kick and it was a margin that I couldn't pull back."- Damian Lane.

Mo'unga (Fourth): "Very game effort. Fantastic race. Just came up a bit short today."- Hugh Bowman.

Probabeel (Fifth): "Ran super. It's not her preferred footing but gave me an awesome feel and as soon as I went for another gear, she couldn't go in it."- Brett Prebble.

Dalasan (Sixth): "I think the 2000 metres might be drawn out when they run that brutal tempo." - Daniel Moor.

Callsign Mav (Seventh): "Even run."- Luke Nolen.

Captivant (Last): "Just didn't like the wet. Just never went."- Dean Yendall.
