Trainer Phillip Stokes will bypass Friday's Group 1 William Reid Stakes with promising sprinter Ancestry.
Instead, the rising four-year-old will contest Saturday's Listed Hareeba Stakes.
Ancestry put his hand up to run in the G1 following a dominant victory at The Valley on All-Star Mile Day, however, Stokes said he has elected to go with the easier option.
Luke Nolen has been booked to ride, with Michael Poy heading to Sydney for Golden Slipper Day.
"I think we will go to the Hareeba, it's an easier race, we have a good barrier (one). It looks to be a high-pressure race, the Group 1, and he probably doesn't get in very well at weight-for-age," Stokes told RSN927.
"His times and everything are great and I'm sure he will get to that (Group 1) level. If he'd drawn an inside barrier, we might have given him his chance on Friday, but there's some really speedy horses there."
Ancestry is a $2.80 for the Hareeba Stakes with Sportsbet.
