Sibling rivalry ignites in ASM

Richard and David Jolly will take their sibling rivalry to a new level in this year's All-Star Mile.

David will saddle-up contender Behemoth, while Richard has Regalo Di Gaetano heading towards the world's richest mile race.

And the mind games have already begun with Richard happy to take underdog status with his $101 chance. Behemoth is a $9 shot with Sportsbet.

"It's terrific to have myself and David with a runner out of the first 10 that go in," Richard said.

"We get along well and if we don't win, I'd like to see him win.

"I suppose his horse has a lot higher profile than ours and will start a lot shorter in the odds. All the best to him, but I certainly hope our bloke won't disgrace himself.

"For the two of us to be in the race, and for South Australia, it's a really exciting thing.

"I think the horse is going super. He is going to be well suited third-up over the 1600m, we know that's his right trip."

David admitted he'd be keeping a keen eye on Regalo Di Gaetano in the run during The All-Star Mile.

"He is quite flashy, Richard's horse, so you can't miss him," he said.

"We will be watching. I would have loved Dad (who trains ASM aspirant Morvada) to be there too. I suppose he might be a slim chance with the wildcard entry. But that would have been the ultimate really to have Dad there as well.

"But I am sure we will be edging each other on."

David said Behemoth had been a 'terrific' horse for him and his owners Grand Syndicates.

"I'd like to think with the way he's developing that he'd still have a couple of good seasons left," he said.

"You've got to keep pinching yourself (that we're running in an All-Star Mile). For myself as a trainer, to have a horse at that level is the ultimate."
