Four Valley winners for Jamie Kah

Jamie Kah might not have won the Cox Plate at her first ride, but she was clearly the star of the show throughout the day at The Valley on Saturday with an extraordinary four winners.

"It's amazing," she enthused after her fourth winner to end the day aboard La Mexicana.

"(I'm) so humbled to be given these opportunities. It would have been great if there were some crowds here, (we) could have really celebrated, but nevertheless I'm so appreciative of everybody."

Kah had her first Cox Plate ride aboard Buckhurst, who never threatened before finishing 10th.

Kah had earlier won on Sneaky Five ($5.50 eq fav), Sovereign Award ($2.90 fav) and $26 chance Miami Bound in the Moonee Valley Cup.

The four winners saw Kah extend her lead in the Melbourne jockeys' premiership. She has now ridden 24 winners and leads from Ben Melham (18), who also rode a double on Cox Plate Day, with Damien Oliver currently third with 16 wins.
