Swats That looking to earn spot in Coolmore

Troy Corstens says the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes is at the forefront of his mind with speedy filly Swats That.

The three-year-old was high up in Thousand Guineas markets, however, the Malua Racing team didn't pay up at the first round of acceptances.

Swats That will contest Friday night's G2 Scarborough Stakes at The Valley and will continue on to her grand final on October 31.

"We want to keep her to a sprint trip this time around, so the final goal will be the Coolmore," Corstens said.

"She's naturally quite talented and very sharp, so I think that it will be good to get another dimension to her at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

"We will probably have another run in between then and the Coolmore, but we will just see how she goes on Friday night first."

Swats That has drawn barrier nine for John Allen on Friday night.

"It gives him a few options," he added of the draw.

"It's probably not a bad thing for her. We don't really want to get her too cluttered up, so I'll leave the riding up to Johnny, but you'd think she'd be a couple of pairs back and maybe three wide with cover."
