Bella Vella impresses in jumpout

Bella Vella continued her preparation towards the Group 1 Moir Stakes at The Valley on September 25 with a jumpout at Morphettville on Tuesday morning.

The last-start Mittys McEwen Stakes winner pleased her trainer Will Clarken with her hit-out.

"That was perfect this morning, just what we were looking for," Clarken said.

"I just felt she was a little on the fresh side since the McEwen and that was a nice piece of maintenance work without her being knocked around."

Clarken was also delighted with the jumpouts of two other members of his stable on the day.

"I was really happy with Be My Star and she is right on track to join Bella Vella at The Valley on Moir night and run in the opening heat of the Ladbrokes 955-Metre Challenge," he said.

"Parsifal I also thought was good in Bella Vella's heat and he showed with that piece of work he may have another good campaign ahead of him.

"The plan is to kick him off at Morphettville on Saturday week, but a bold showing could earn him a trip to Melbourne as well."

On Wednesday Clarken will saddle up two runners, Handsome Return and Final Hearing in the Listed TQCSI Balaklava Cup.

"Both horses are in good order, have drawn well and appear nice each-way hopes," Clarken said.

"Handsome Return is back from his mixed hit-and-run visit to the N.T.

"After getting scratched at the gates for the Darwin Cup, Gary (Clarke) took him to Katherine and got us something by winning the Cup there.

"The other bloke, Final Hearing, hasn't been with us long, and we're going with the blinkers with him for the first time on Wednesday."
