ASM winner, stablemate set for Cox Plate

Leading Western Australia owner-breeder Bob Peters will chase more success in Victoria later this year when he sets two runners for the Cox Plate at The Valley.

All-Star Mile winner Regal Power and Group 1 winner Arcadia Queen will both get their opportunities to impress in the traditional lead-up races in the spring with the aim of securing a place in the $5 million Cox Plate.

"Regal Power is coming along nicely and he enjoyed his spell after The All-Star Mile," Peters said.

"We'll aim to get him back around August and then he can head to the traditional lead-up races."

Arcadia Queen will look to recapture the form which saw her win the G1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) as a three-year-old and go on to be the favourite for the $7.5 million Golden Eagle last year.

"She's had a long time off now but I'm happy with how she's going," Peters added.

"It'll be good to see how she goes in Victoria."

Both will remain under the care of Grant and Alana Williams while in Victoria and Arcadia Queen is rated a $26 chance in BetEasy's market, which is headed by Te Akau Shark and Almond Eye at $11.
