Kiwi star set to converge on Melbourne

Star Kiwi The Bostonian arrives in Melbourne on Wednesday as connections prepare to tackle Friday week's Group 1 Charter Keck Kramer Moir Stakes (1000m) first-up at The Valley.

Tony Pike's sprinter was the star of Queensland's Winter Carnival, winning both the G1 Doomben 10,000 (1200m) and the G1 Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m) before tasting defeat in the G1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).

A winner of nine of his 17 career starts, the son of Jimmy Choux is unbeaten in five first-up runs, although he's never raced below 1100m.

Damian Lane will partner the five-year-old - who is rated a $17 chance in BetEasy's market - in the $1 million dash, which will also feature his Stradbroke conqueror Trekking ($6), enigmatic sprinter Nature Strip ($2.90) and last-start McEwen Stakes winner Faatinah ($7.50).

The Bostonian will be joined in Melbourne by lightly-raced stablemate Spring Bouquet, who will step out at Flemington next Wednesday.
