Winx still on top but Poets Word climbing

Winx remains the highest-rated horse in the world while rising British star Poet's Word has been elevated to equal second in the latest Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings.

The victory of the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Poet's Word in the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot saw the son of Poet's Voice improve his rating to 129 from 125.

Gun Runner is also rated 129 while Winx is rated 130 for her victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Poet's Word's stablemate Crystal Ocean, who went down narrowly in an epic battle between the pair at Ascot, has dramatically improved his rating to 128 from 120 and is now rated the outright fourth-best horse.

The Charlie Hills-trained Battaash is now regarded as the highest-rated sprinter in the world after his dominant Qatar King George Stakes victory at Goodwood.

His rating has been lifted to 125, going straight past Australian horses Happy Clapper and Trapeze Artist, who remain in equal-seventh position in the rankings.
