MVRC announces the appointment of Jim Hogan to the MVRC Committee

The Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Hogan to the MVRC Committee, filling the vacancy created following the retirement of Kate O’Sullivan.

With the MVRC’s expanding interests in the gaming and hospitality sector, the Club decided to seek a candidate that possessed expertise and experience in this field. Jim’s background in the hospitality industry identified him as a perfect candidate to join the Committee.

While Jim retired as a CPA and financial planner in 2012 after working in the hotel industry since 1975, he currently controls the Hogan Hotel Group, which owns Hogan’s Hotel / Motel in Wallan, Pretty Sally Bakehouse, Romsey Hotel, and the Hotel Shamrock in Bendigo.

Jim was also a former executive member of the Australian Hotels Association and Frontier Hospitality, both not-for-profit organisations in the hospitality industry.

Jim has lived locally for much of his life and has been a member of the MVRC for 35 years.

Jim also holds a strong knowledge of the racing industry with over 30 years’ experience and has enjoyed the highs and lows of racehorse ownership.

We look forward to welcoming Jim to the Committee as we embark on an exciting period in the history of our great Club.
