Winx on top of the world

Finally, Winx is on top of the world.

The Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings released on Thursday in Europe recognised Winx's dominant Queen Elizabeth Stakes win as rating a 130 - which takes her a point ahead of the retired American champ Gun Runner.

Winx, a winner of her past 25 races in a row and with 18 Group 1 wins to her name, has been the champion turf horse for the past two seasons but had been unable to get beyond the American dirt stars Arrogate or Gun Runner until the latest update.

The T.J. Smith Stakes and Doncaster Handicap winners were also recognised, with three-year-old Trapeze Artist and Happy Clapper moving into the world's top 10, equal sixth with 123 ratings.
