The MVRC In The Community

The Moonee Valley Racing Club has hit the ground running in 2018 and has already donated more than $15,000 to the local community. Below is a snapshot of who the MVRC have been supporting -

Barbecure – Cure Cancer Australia
To celebrate Australia Day on Australia Stakes Night, The Valley’s popular public holiday race meeting hosted a range of Aussie activities, which are never complete without a Big Aussie BBQ. We were proud to partner with Barbecure and Cure Cancer Australia to donate all proceeds of the sausage sizzle, totalling $1,000, to this worthwhile cause.

Richmond Premiership player Jack Riewoldt was a special guest of the CJD Support Group Network who hosted their fundraising event at The Valley on February 9. The CJD Support Group Network Australia offers support, information and assistance for family members and friends of patients suffering with suspected Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and other prion disease and for those at increased risk of developing CJD.

E.J. Whitten Foundation Race Night

The eighth annual E.J. Whitten Foundation Race Night was held on March 2 at The Valley, with plenty of much-needed funds raised on the night for the foundation. With retired Racing Steward Des Gleeson a special guest in the Committee Room and plenty of auction items on offer, it was a fantastic night all round that the MVRC is proud to continue to support to help raise awareness for prostate cancer.
