Winx to stay home for Spring Carnival tilt

News broke around the world today that Winx will stay in Australia and bypass a European campaign in the hope of a returning for the Spring Racing Carnival.

Chris Waller informed the public in a press release on Wednesday afternoon that she will line-up in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on April 14 and it was their intention to race on in the spring with the then seven-year-old mare, with predictions of a fourth W.S. Cox Plate now on the agenda.

"The news today from this Chris Waller stable regarding super mare and three time W.S. Cox Plate winner Winx is no doubt a huge coup for Australian racing and the upcoming Spring Carnival"

"It's very exciting to think that the champion could be back for an attempt at a fourth Cox Plate and our job will be to ensure it is an epic race and one to remember forever," MVRC CEO Michael Browell explained.

Tickets and dining packages for the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival will be available for pre-sale to MVRC Members on May 7 and will be released to the public on May 21.
