National Jockeys Trust T20 Match a resounding success

The annual National Jockeys Trust T20 cricket match was held at Caulfield Park on Monday 22nd January. The event was an overwhelming success with over $114,000 raised. The funds will provide valuable assistance for hundreds of jockeys and their families who experience riding accidents.

The match was again taken out by the Jockeys in a ‘super over’ after scores were tied 141 apiece. ‘Young Guns’ Mitch Goring and Josh Ledger steered the Jockeys to victory in the ‘super over’ after the All Stars could only muster 9 runs. Flemington trainer Danny O’Brian was named man of the match with a three wicket haul.

The MVRC was proud to sponsor Cox Plate winning jockey Steven Arnold for the event and he led the charge for the Jockeys with the bat. Arnold top scored with a quickfire 26 before retiring. So far Arnold has raised $1,259 for the trust and further donations can be made by clicking here.
