Moonee Valley Trackwork - Who Worked Well?

Newcastle trainer Ben Smith was all smiles after watching In Her Time cruise around Moonee Valley on Tuesday ahead of Friday's Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m).

The mare just missed a start in Sydney's newest race the $10m The Everest (1200m).

In Her Time was one of the stars of the show at Breakfast With The Best, clocking a sharp 23.4 seconds for her final 400m with little pressure from jockey Corey Brown.

"Happy with that, she wasn't out to do too much, she's had three runs in six weeks," Smith said.

"She travelled down well and has settled into Flemington nicely."

The daughter of Time Thief drew barrier two for Friday night's million-dollar feature and is coming off a performance that would've seen her test Redzel in The Everest.

In Her Time wasn't the only Manikato runner to produce a rousing gallop at Moonee Valley.

Hey Doc may have failed when tested over the mile last start but his work suggests Tony McEvoy has successfully freshened him up.

Last season's Australian Guineas winner reeled off a slick 23.2s for his final 400m and could be over the odds as the rank outsider in the race with bet365 offering $26.

While all eyes were on Winx, there was another Chris Waller runner that caught the eye.

French Emotion is nominated for the Powerflo Solution Stakes (1600m) and worked over 1000m in 1:07s, coming home her last 400m in 23.2s.

She stayed on the right leg up the straight - a good sign - and was still quite full of herself when returning from the gallop.

Invincibella, her stablemate, also worked powerfully and will take some beating.

They're all running for second in the Cox Plate but at least Royal Symphony won't be missing a place on fitness.

He had the work thrown at him over 1400m and pinned the ears back nicely when Dean Yendall asked him for an effort.

The lone 3YO of Saturday's feature clocked 1:37s and 24.7s for his last 400m.
